This summer we visited a lot of extended relatives. We celebrated with Great Grandpa and Grandma for his/Nolan's/Grandpa/Grandma's birthdays at a lunch in Medina. Nana and Pa came down for the Irish Festival in August. Pa shared his hat with Braedyn...it will fit someday! Braedyn and I took a road trip with Grandma to meet my cousins and Aunts in July. This picture was in front of the riverboat we took in Pittsburgh. We were super busy this summer!

Fourth of July

July 4th brought a parade and fireworks, also firsts for Braedyn. He loved the parade. Especially the marching bands, well the drums in the bands. He heard them coming down the road, and followed them as they passed us! Future percussionist? It does run in the family! While fireworks were much past a normal bedtime, Braedyn was able to sleep untill right before they went off. He awoke as the show started and stayed awake until almost the end. He was definately interested as he looked at the sparkles in the sky! Despite looking a little concerned in the picture, he really did just gaze at them the whole time!

Hocking Hills 2009

We took a weekend in August to visit the Saunders family in Hocking Hills. It was Braedyn's first time in a cabin and he had a blast. We went hiking and swimming. Again both firsts for the little guy. He liked hiking so much that he fell asleep in the backpack Nolan was carrying him in! There was no shortage of babysitters, Grammie and Nini stayed with him while Nolan and I took a canoe trip down the river (the first time together!) Can't wait for next year!

Cheerios

At Braedyn's 6 month doctor appointment, the Pediatrician said that he could have mashed table foods and cheerios.  So after his breakfast of oatmeal this morning, we tried them!  Braedyn was a little surprised at the texture, but continued to try to pick them up.  After putting one in his mouth, he started to pick them up and drop them right off the side of the highchair! and the "uh-oh" game begins!

Food First and Outdoor Fun

Friday night, Braedyn experienced his first solid vegetable...peas! He loved them.  There was no pushing it back out of his mouth.  Braedyn opened his mouth, and ate up all the peas we offered him.  He tried green beans later earlier this week, and loved those as well.  We are very excited that he seems to have Daddy's taste buds!
This past Saturday was the first nice day we could get outside as a family.  While Daddy and Mommy picked up the leaves and sticks in the backyard left over from the fall and winter, Braedyn enjoyed time in his exersaucer.  Then later in the work week, Braedyn spent time outside with his friends.  He also began sitting up unsupported this week, and had a lot f fun sitting in the grass and chilling in his sunglasses! We are so excited for the beautiful weather this weekend!

Happy Easter

Good Friday was spent with Addy and her parents and Braedyn was actually awake to play with her this time!  He especially liked watching her crawl around.
The Easter Bunny was very kind to Braedyn this year. He brought sunglasses, socks, a slinky, finger puppets, paint, and even a first chocolate bunny (which mommy helped him enjoy)!  Daddy also got a basket with his favorites, and we started the morning off with a beautiful Easter Service.  We were able to see both families this year, and look forward to more.
Mommy was very careful with the spot on her nose where she recently had 6 stiched removed and had to keep a careful eye on Braedyn's ever roaming hands.
He is working very hard on sitting up and on April 15 sat up multiple times throughout the day for long periods! He is so close to doing it without support.  He also graduated from his reclining infant tub to a half body sponge that lays in the bottom of the tub...at least until he becomes proficient at sitting up! 6 months is right around the corner and we should be starting some yummy vegetables soon!

Hello again!

Well, so much for posting regularly! Recently we have been seeing a lot of friends and getting home very late.  This leaves not much time for updating.  Braedyn is sitting with me this morning to help while we let Daddy sleep in.
At his 4 month check, Braedyn weighed 17 1/2 lbs. and was 27 inches long.  This puts him in the 90 and 97% (respectively) on the growth charts!  Braedyn's new nickname is Gigantor!  He began eating cereal a week ago, only a tablespoon at a time.  He opened his mouth for it right away and certainly enjoys his food, although wishes he were eating mommy Mommy and Daddy's vegetables and steaks, and chocolate chip cookies.  He has rolled to his side twice, and now gives kisses!
Daddy and I are very busy with keeping the growing boy fed and keeping the house clean, not to mention work!
